AD it sure was a pleasure meeting you in San Jose and I totally agree with your “red meet and hungry lions” analogy. I think that was about the most entertaining hockey I’ve ever seen, or ever will see. Maybe it was because I only paid $20 total for 3 games, or maybe because I was sitting at ice level red line, but that was freaking awesome. I’m so glad I made the trip down there for it, and I really have you guys (AJ and Jesse as well) to thank for being interesting enough to listen to all summer and keeping me totally into hockey enough to drive 900 miles down there. I had one of the best times of my life and not just because of the insanely good, cheap hockey, or getting to meet or just be around some of hockey’s past and future legends including media people (you know who you are). But also because the beach at Santa Cruz was a half hour from where I stayed, and my day at the beach with my family was probably even better than the hockey. Never been to Santa Cruz and it was worth the trip as well, it was like the double extra super bonus you didn’t really expect after the initial investment was already paying you a great return. Also Mt. Shasta in NoCal is absolutely amazing and has snow covering all sides of it’s enormous peak at the end of summer, I had no idea. Also I now have 2 of the game pucks from the Avs games in the showcase because the NHL officials gave one to me and one to my kid. They were on JT, Tyson, Timmons, Mironov, etc. sticks and there’s no way at least some of those guys aren’t future greats. Probably some of the guys from the other teams too but I don’t really care about that. AD please do a storytime about the Yeti, and find a real fireplace to sit in front of 🙂
