I think the best the Nuggets can do is to keep building with the pieces they have. I actually think the biggest test is what they are willing to give Plumlee. I think the argument could easily be made that they were a worse team with Plumlee than without him and it’ll be interesting to see if the Nuggs F.O. see that and if/what they commit to him. They have better options at the backup 5 in this draft, guys who can actually make shots. With Gallo, I think he’s one of the better options out there, so I think re-signing him is a no brainer, because at the very least he helps team chemistry as well as gives them a guy who can get to FT line consistently. Blake Griffin is not a guy I’d want any of the young guys on this team around, I think that if they bring in a big FA name it has to be a guy who supports guys like Jokic and Harris becoming the leaders on this team rather than one who undermines that.

I guess in short the best I can hope for is that they trade Barton for a pick or two, to open room for Malik and either sign Plumlee to a very team friendly deal or let him walk. I agree Milsap would be a good get, maybe a guy like Teodisic would be worth giving a high dollar short term contract to. Maybe even a guy like Tony Allen, but I don’t think getting a guy like Griffin would really be helpful unless his character is far better than his actions point to it being. I think Barton is expendable and TC needs to get a mid first rounder back in return for him. Maybe draft another 3-4 prospect with that return, although what would really help would be if they could find a way to move up in the draft and get a Josh Jackson or Jayson Tatum
