The Colorado Avalanche selected Canadian goalie Trent Miner with the 202nd overall pick in the seventh round of the 2019 NHL Draft. This was their last selection in the draft.
Miner’s Vancouver Giants took the WHL Finals to seven games this spring. Colorado’s fourth overall pick Bowen Byram was also on the team. This season, Miner allowed 1.96 goals against and stopped 92.4 percent of opponent shots in 32 regular season games. He allowed 2.73 goals per game in the playoffs.
