  • For the last few years I’ve gotten a kick out of re-writing the Lord’s Prayer for Broncos fans and I thought this community would appreciate this year’s rendition. In Elway we trust.

Our GM who art in Denver,
    Elway be thy name,
    Your QB come,
    A franchise one,
In Denver as it is in New England.
Give us this year NOT 6-10,
Forgive us of our $wag as we have forgiven your Flacco.
    Lead us not into mediocrity,
    But deliver us a Lombardy.
    For yours is the Manning,
    And the Miller,
    And the No fly,
    Forever and ever,

  • Real quick since you’re going to Chicago: in the early to mid-70’s there was a Chicago-style hamburger joint on Leetsdale across from the JCC, and they were big and juicy, seasoned, with grilled onions, and mayonnaise. (Anyone remember it?) I don’t even know if that is a thing in Chicago, but man they were delicious! Hopefully you can learn more while you’re there. I look forward to the reports!

    Kyler Murray,

  • So to start, there are 2 burger places you need to try if you haven’t. In Pueblo and CO Springs, there is a place called Bingo Burger. These are Pueblo Chile infused burger patties (beef, lamb, chicken, and salmon) served in a new age diner setting. Everything is locally sourced (when possible) from their brioche buns, the plethora of cheese (american, provolone, swiss, goat cheese, etc), beer, freshly cut russett and sweet potato fries, and unique sauces (curry ketchup, chipotle ranch, cranberry bbq, bacon mayo, etc.). This is one of the best kept secrets in Southern Colorado.

Also, in New Mexico, there is a local chain called Blake’s Lotaburger. These are the most picturesque burger you can find. The stores don’t look like much, but the quality of food is absolutely worth it. Breakfast there is incredible as well. They crack the eggs right in front of you, everything is cooked to order.

That said, with the news that Brandon Marshall is gone, and the likelihood that Shane Ray is as well, how does that linebacker core shape out? Do we draft another ILB? Does Josie Jewell step up and hope for the best? Do we spend cap space in free agency? CJ Mosley is a pipe dream, and we need more run stoppers. Shelby Harris and Derek Wolfe can’t be the only ones to stuff the line.

  • Hey guys,

Little football talk from me today, sorry to stray off the main topic of this foody podcast lol. I know you shut down the idea of Devin Bush in the second round and rightfully so. I have seen some mixed reviews on Mack Wilson from Alabama. I was reading several different mocks and he was goin anywhere from 15 to 40. Do you see a way he slips to Denver or Denver maybe moving up a couple spots in the second by trading their second and a 5th, or their second and their remaining 4th.

Also super unpopular thought. What if Denver flat out decided no QB this year no matter what, and decided to build a win now defense in the draft and free agency , and some how sniped White and Wilson….

Dream for a second gentlemen of a Linebacker corp of Miller, White, Wilson and Chubbs..

Keep it up guys, and anyone who has yet to subscribe needs to. I held out for to long and wanted to take advantage of trying to win a shirt, and found i should have just subscribed way earlier. The way these guys take such care of their listeners and making sure we have great content is unparalleled. These guys are in the same class as the Fantasy Football Focus pod with Matthew Berry!!!

  • Two questions:

    1) If Case Keenum was a Mexican restaurant, which would he be?

    Just kidding.

    1) ok, Flacco doesn’t rank high on QB accuracy on long (20+?) passes. Where does he rank on long pass attempts say over the last two years? Does he go long more often than others?

    2) My days are endless conference calls and staff meetings where we plan followup conference calls. How do your days typically go? Do you guys coordinate a lot on topics for the podcast or do you go in blind and see where the conversation goes? Especially during the off-season what nonpodcast activities tie you up? Are you working stories, chasing players, etc? Just curious about a “day in the life”…

  • Hypothetical #1: You are John Elway—limited to only two “moves” now before the start of next season and requiring AT LEAST an 8-8 record to save your job. Flacco/Keenum was your first move. What is your second and final move?

(Note: releasing a player does not count as a “move” but acquiring, trading for, drafting, and/or hiring does)

Hypothetical #2: Raiders owner Mark Davis buys Chipotle and offers you a free lifetime supply of burritos with no conditions on limit per visit (meaning you can bring family and friends), though you must eat everything onsite AND you must also wear an outlandish “Raider Nation” costume every time. Do you accept this offer?

  • When is the @astronaut shirt coming out?

I remember the interview with Chubb and it sounded like you had some merch in the works. You asked what he though and he replied, “astronomical.” I guess I either put two and two together or he just loves that adjective.

I didn’t want to blow up your spot, but it’s been a while.

  • I Just came here to stay that I would call a LB Room with Mosley, Chubb and Miller as the Mile High Motor Grader.

I tried to get a shorter one, but I wasn’t able to do it. I hope Elway would give me the chance to put a serious effort on fiding the right name for this group.

  • Sup guys. Been a while since my last comment.

First, I am ok with the flacco trade. At first I was like that office scene where Michael walks back and sees Toby has retuned to the office. lol but now im good with it as it prevents us from being stuck between a rock and a hard place during the draft. Ill be pretty nervous tho if we dont get a qb in the draft. I would FREAKING LOVE to see Murray in Denver but I dont think John will draft him because he likes bigger qbs. call me a blasphemer, but I think that Elway really hurts the team from being narrow minded like that.

Second, New Mexico green chile makes ANY burger a thousand times better. It make burritos better too for that matter! I wish 5 Guys and Chipotle, the two best FAST CASUAL restaurants would add it to their menus. I would smash the hell outta that!
As always you guys are great! Hope we win that subscription contest. Have pondered getting a second subscription so I can contribute! lol

    • I would have to agree. When I lived in El Paso for a few years, my family would go to the Hatch Chili festival every year! Hatch Green Chili can make just about everything better…..almost like Franks Red Sauce!

  • Hey guys first time commenting on the pod, you guys were my first ever pod about 3 years ago, been a subscriber for over a year now and love the content you guys put out always waiting for a new episode. Just wanted to chime in on the Flacco news and my take is that: this team will operate so much better with joe opposed to case, for the simple fact that by the end of the year case looked like a more expensive Trevor simien, he wouldn’t take any deep shot because he couldn’t trust his own arm, faded away from pressure all the time. Flacco will force defenses to respect his arm open running lanes and widen the playbook. It frees the OC and QB to take what the defense gives you, if they try to stop the run Flacco can find a good 1 on 1 outside deep shot, if they even just respect his arm strength out backfield will be able to flourish how they did before the 8 man box.
Keep up all the great work love hearing from you too

  • I’m pretty sure I might be the only Bronco fan that will be disappointed if we do draft a QB in the first round. i really don’t care who is the starting QB week 1 2019 season. I love our defense but I believe it has holes and the offense has more holes. I really don’t want to draft a QB and watch him forced into the game and end up like Rosen. So we get Flacco who conducts himself like a pro while getting killed as our new O-line finds its groove, setting the example for the youngsters on the team. We use this years draft to build our base, O-line, D-line, DB, LB, and maybe TE. Flacco runs the offense like a pro while Skang finds his feet as OC and the young guys get a year in the offense learning and growing, our freshly drafted O-line starting to gel. We then bring a rookie QB in 2020 with only the QB to teach and fit into the system. A much better situation to bring a rookie into where he could play and not get shell shocked like Rosen. My biggest worry is WE NEED TO HAVE A SUCCESSFUL DRAFT. What do you guys think?

  • We may have ownership issues right now, but at least we don’t have our owner soliciting sex-trafficked girls. Yikes.

  • I wanted to try and figure out what I really would want the Broncos to do in the draft and decided to try a few draft simulators, after trying multiple I saw some common themes and these were my most common picks. In the first I picked up Murray, in the 2nd I managed to snag Marquise Brown, and in the third I went with Hanks out of New Mexico. Assuming we find a way to acquire Bryce Callahan and a tackle (if we don’t re-sign Veldher) I think this is an absolute best case- scenario for Denver and I would be beyond excited for the team moving forward. I think it’s a probably pipedream on multiple levels, but it’s dreaming season boys and I’m all in on it! However, I can actually see a situation where the Broncos are able to acquire Marquise Brown in the second after his injury news. What’re your thoughts?

    Much love,

  • Great Pod dudes. Loved the spirited debate over Flacco in the first segment.

Here’s my hot take (more related to Mexican food than fast food/fast casual). TexMex is trash. California style Mexican food is the only way to go.

Curious to hear your pre-combine and post-combine thoughts on the below:
Who do the Broncos take at 10?

  • Happy Monday Dudes,

A little clarification, I think most of us who are interested in taking a flyer on a guy like Rypien in the later rounds aren’t counting on him to be the savior of the franchise. As far as I know, we still need a back-up QB why not bring in a dude who checks a lot of boxes? Most importantly, his PFF scores show promising progression with an underwhelming supporting cast at Boise. Secondly, he’s the winner of the “Parcells College Quarterback Criteria” award this year for what that’s worth… While PFF is not bulletproof it is a decent metric of performance and leaves out his most important attribute: His football IQ and what that means for development. I’d like to see alot of guys brought in, and as far a back-ups, QB isn’t an awful investment.

    Quick Hitters:
Gotta second my Iowa Brother, there is some sneaky good ethnic food there.
For My Air Force friend, Mississippi sounds terrible. Google: Clovis, NM our water isn’t fit for children under the age of one but we have a Chipotle and forget fast casual it’s our finest restaurant.
Would love for you guys to do another cross-over pod with Andre, and can’t wait for yall to crush the combine coverage, even if its just for clicks (just kidding, you guys rock)

  • Hey guys,

Born in Colorado and now living in Tucson, AZ and I can in fact confirm that Filiberto’s and El Pollo Loco are the cream of the crop when it comes to fast food Mexican. But allow me to ask a Broncos question (if that’s okay). I keep on hearing about how the Broncos should pursue Adrian Amos or Landon Collins, am I the only one who hasn’t forgotten about Will Parks? I feel like my fellow Wildcat has more than earned a starting spot next year. IMO he was our best secondary player last year not named Harris.

    Thanks guys!
